Darkfaery Subculture Magazine has been a hub since 1992 for those who seek something outside of the mainstream to exercise their talents. We don’t believe that someone has to have a degree or be trained like a monkey to perform a task. We like merits. If you think you can do it, we’d like to see you try your hand at it. We offer plenty of opportunities for open minds in a competitive but non-corporate environment. The DARKFAERY SUBCULTURE MAGAZINE staff work hard at creating magazines that cater to the most devoted fan bases from around the world.

Our compensation and benefits package for full-time volunteers include: Entertainment promos and Gift Packs Concert tickets and passes to events, free or at a discount Booth space, free or at a discount Free Web space and e-mail @ dfsm.org, darkfaery-girls.com, or darkfaery-subculture.com Free promotion for your personal projects including space in the magazine. We treat our staff like people. We consider ourselves to be a rather large dysfunctional family. We openly encourage our volunteers to contribute their input into how we can make our magazine and websites the best that it can be.

If you want to get into magazine publishing, journalism, graphic design, advertising sales, marketing, circulation, web design and production and/or customer service, but want to work in an open environment without sacrificing your individual identity, then DARKFAERY SUBCULTURE MAGAZINE is where you want to be.

To apply you can e-mail us here, duvy@retardsrule.com, duvy.dfsm@gmail.com, or where ever you see our profiles or online accounts. In the subject line, specify the title of the job you are interested in. You’re welcome to apply for as many positions as you like. If you would like to apply to be a Darkfaery Girl or Boy please e-mail tristalou@darkfaery-girls.com You do not have to meet any expectations to be a Darkfaery Girl or Boy; we accept all shapes, colors, sizes, and types.

You must be able to attend events dressed in costume, be comfortable with yourself and with meeting people, and most of all you must represent DARKFAERY SUBCULTURE MAGAZINE. You will not be allowed to get in free as one of our staff and then do whatever you want or shamelessly use us. You will have to help us. Be sure before you apply, you will become a part of our family and we will expect you to show. For our younger fans: We completely appreciate you wanting to work at DARKFAERY SUBCULTURE MAGAZINE even though you may not have graduated high school.

We really are looking for candidates at least 18 years of age, but we understand that you can’t get experience unless someone is willing to give you a chance. Under 18 we will allow you to help with ONLINE/WEB PRODUCTION, ADVERTISING/MARKETING, ART/PRODUCTION, and EDITORIAL. These things consist of: Light copy editing, news gathering and posting Collecting new release information Assisting with a variety of editorial tasks daily Basic HTML knowledge Page layout & advertising/promotional design Online design Create new pages/sections Create online banners & images Unfortunately, we cannot offer modeling positions to anyone under 18 but if you are a parent or guardian of an alternative/gothic/rock child and wish to start your kid as a model we will consider it as long as you can be there with them at all times. Minors may only attend all age’s events and we will need the permission of a parent or guardian. We ARE NOT a BABYSITTING service. We offer unpaid internships to students who are looking to gain college credit or to fulfill course requirements through experience. We can give you as much time as you need from 5 to 40 hours a week. It’s all up to you.

HOW TO JOIN: These Rules and Regulations are subject to change at anytime. *You must be 18 or over *You have to live in Oklahoma, no exceptions. *You have to be willing to show up to most events for the promotion of DFSM (Darkfaery Subculture Magazine). This does not mean just a few! You have to be reliable! *You have to be yourself! This is very important. We want you to have fun and be comfortable in who you are. We take all shapes in sizes of women. Tattoos are a plus! Also make sure you really have a love for this lifestyle! Okay so if all that sounds good to you then we will need you to add us as friends and send us a message with the subject being Application. In the application you will need to include……. *2 or more pics for us to view. If you are chosen one of these pics will be posted into the Darkfaery Girls album. No pics of complete nudity! Semi nude is fine as long as it’s done with class and not exposing all of your goods. Also the pics need to be somewhat professional quality. No normal MySpace pics. *Your name and age *A short bio of yourself *Why you want to be a Darkfaery Girl send application or request to TristaLou@darkfaery-girls.com http://www.myspace.com/darkfaerygirls How to support: The Darkfaery Girls need your support, that’s how these things work. If you are a photographer, fashion designer, artist, or own a space where we can host photo shoots, you can help us by donating that time and space. We would like to work with locals who make their own clothing/costumes especially. We can’t pay you but every image the Darkfaery Girls wear an item of yours in we will credit you on the photo and in the magazine. We are in the transition from moving from “online only” to full color glossy paper, so getting involved now while we’re still in the planning stage will be a great start! It costs a lot of money to organize and promote 10 girls who will need photos, make-up, and clothing…heck even tattoos and piercings, so you would be getting a lot back as far as promotion and presence. If you want to invest money, that’s great. We take donations. They go to either Duvy or Z, please do not give money to the darkfaery girls unless it’s in the tip jar as this creates problems among the girls. Can we attend your events? Yes, we can! If you want to invite us to attend an event, or get a sponsorship from Dakfaery Subculture Magazine, it’s easy, just ask. We don’t charge and we don’t pay that includes cover charges/entry fees. We will be happy to cover our own food and drinks. Everything we do is for promotional/exposure only. What you’ll get is full promotion from us, flyers on the street, word of mouth, front listing in the magazine, and on our collective MySpace profiles. Don’t be afraid to ask or invite. We’re always interested. Darkfaery Subculture Magazine 517 NW 95th st Oklahoma City, OK 73114 Editor: Duvall Gilchrist-Montgomery Phone: 1-405-420-8674 E-mail: duvy@darkfaery-girls.com
