Local Spotlight: Dirk Hooper

DFSM: Hello, Dirk, it’s been awhile since I had time to get an update with you, so what has been going on?

Dirk Hooper: There’s been a lot going on lately. Toxic Goddess is taking off. We only started a few months ago and we already have over 5200 photos on the site! We’re already looking into expanding into other fields (not ready to make those announcements yet, but believe me… it’s big)!

We’re currently making a big push to find and cultivate new models for the Toxic Goddess site. It’s tough to find the right women, because not only do they have to have the looks and attitude, they also have to be creative, motivated, good at promotion and close enough that Robert Henry, Jennifer Marks and I can work with them regularly. But the potential rewards, for the right women, is great!

I can make the announcement that we’re also looking for an apprentice makeup artist to help with shoots and we’re ALWAYS looking for unique places to shoot (heck, we’re looking for almost any place to shoot).

Personally, I’ve had a good year as a fine artist. I had work at the Dirty Show in Detroit, got three pieces in the IAO’s Biting the Apple exhibit and recently had a month long group show in Dallas. Earlier this year my work was acquired by the Kinsey Institute, based at Indiana University, for their permanent collection, which is both exciting and a great honor. My work will now be preserved and studied by future generations.

DFSM: Do you have any events or shows coming up in the next few months?

Dirk Hooper: Again, we’re looking into some big things with appearances next year, but I’ll give you an exclusive… I’ve been invited as a guest artist to a fetish show in Belgium next March!

DFSM: How many Toxic Goddesses are there now? I see lots of new faces.

Dirk Hooper: We currently have eight Toxic Goddesses (one that will debut in November), but we are making a big push to bring some new models on board, and we are very close to ascending several new Goddesses.
