Local Spotlight: Tympanic Frenzy

January 16th, 2008 | by Duvy | 77 views

Tympanic Frenzy have a rare sound that is truly original in a sea of bands that sound the same in oklahoma. I suggest you give them a listen without delay.

DFSM: Hey, it’s been awhile since we heard anything from Tympanic Frenzy, how is it going?
T.F.: Things are going well, since releasing Cerebral Funktion..In process… My brother Ryan has moved back from FL, and joined back up he’s doing some programming/writing and will be doing all the triggering and DJing for the live shows. Curtis has since left and Been replaced by a new guitarist, Kenneth Murrey. So he’s been learning older material and helping finiish the new stuff.

DFSM: Any projects in the works?
T.F.:As for projects nothing new aside from Tympanic Frenzy. We’ve been working on the next album for a while now, and were a little more than half way through it. We might release some sort of remix ep of some older tracks to tide folks over till we get this finished. Were trying not to rush it We want every song to be solid, no filler tracks, we also have a bit of a theme going for this one so we’ll see how that works. (theres a rough draft of a new track up on the myspace page “Bloodstained”)

DFSM: Tympanic Frenzy has a very distinctive sound what is the inspiration behind it? What puts you in the mood?
T.F.: Well the inspiration is life mainly, everything thats brought me to this point (lyrically) the state of the world.. its not great you know and we try to make people think about that some and realize were all part of the problem. Rather than blaming try to look in the mirror. What gets me in the mood to write…? That varys, sometimes its hearing other peoples music, or a movie or just having the need I’m always thinking about making music. We inspire each other as well.
